Browse the Internet and notice
what other companies have done with their websites. This helps you
decide what you want, and don't want, on your site.
When you find a site you really
like or dislike, either bookmark or print the page. This will help
you remember what the idea was, and where you found it. It will
also help your web designer better understand what it is you want.
Compare several design companies.
Talk to them about what they offer and the experience they have. Price,
of course, is important; however, a site that gets the job done
is more important.
Visit
websites that the design company has done and ask yourself the
following:
Is the website design original,
or a template?
Is the site easy to navigate?
Do the pages load quickly?
Are the images clear?
Does the website make sense
and encourage you to read on, or buy?
Are the colors and graphics
appropriate and pleasing?
